About

My baptism into research came when I studied Music at King’s College, Cambridge, electing to focus on music history. Thereafter, I longed for work that could use my skills in historical research. Combining my research skills with a lifelong love of cars, I fashioned myself into an automotive historian when I applied to my first research project: Jaguar C-type XKC 044.

Many projects since, my work has shed light on some automotive treasures and has brought back into the limelight cars which had been forgotten by the mainstream. I have seen how my work can enrich the lives of the owners, some of whom were very excited as the facts were uncovered.

I am proud to have written two books and to have prepared historic reports for two Pebble Beach Concours entries. In my view, all historic cars have a story worth telling – and I take great pleasure in elucidating their often complex and deeply interesting histories.
